Roland S. Weekley, P.E.
Roland Weekley

Principal/Director of Electrical Engineering

Mr. Weekley’s work experience spanning over 35 years and includes project management, design and construction administration. Concentration of practice includes both international and domestic projects in electrical design of utility distribution, commercial and industrial projects. Commercial design experience encompasses hospitality, educational facilities, multi-family residential, retail, office, medical, convention and projects.

His extensive work experience has afforded the opportunity to gain a working knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and telecommunications and construction practices. Either as a project manager or design engineer, this practical experience and broad technical knowledge proves valuable in quickly recognizing a project’s potential and boundaries for the employment of different systems within a project.

Commercial design and project management expertise he brings to a project can be separated into two distinct topics: Power includes electrical distribution, lighting, and life safety; telecommunications encompasses audiovisual, data, telephone, security and MATV.

Commercial electrical power designs have included from the modest to the complex. Projects have included both high-rise and low-rise facilities built to these standards; facilities divided into multiple fire zones and multiple smoke removal systems; provisions for standby power (on-site generators) to serve both essential life safety systems and non-essential emergency systems; and campus facilities requiring networked fire alarm systems.

High voltage systems designs have included single point of entry for the local utility and the establishment of an owner owned and operated high voltage distribution system. Several projects have included on site back-up power generation integral to the distribution system. Designs have included use of high voltage within a structure to efficiently and cost-effectively distribute electrical power.

Telecommunication design experience includes complete A/V, MATV, security systems and telephone and data structured cabling systems for large hotels, convention centers, offices, and restaurants. Designs have incorporated intercom, high-speed broadband data, voice over IP, fiber optics, and satellite TV reception and distribution.
